Hey everybody,

Yesterday Matt Katz and I sat around a table talking to Firefox
geniuses on IRC trying to close a couple tickets.

CLOSED - http://dev.eyebeam.org/projects/add-art/ticket/44
Epic close! Matt Katz got the plugin to download a file. Making us
44% (http://dev.eyebeam.org/projects/add-art/milestones) of the way
to version 1.0 - horay.

ALMOST F'IN CLOSED - http://dev.eyebeam.org/projects/add-art/ticket/19
Our oldest open ticket which, when fixed, will open a browser window
when users update and tell them about the new version, new art, etc.
We got this so close. I think Matt will be poking around with it
today. Some fresh eyes might help.
It's under branches/versionsplash

here's the background. Feel free to email the list if you have
questions.
We added an overlay to the chrome.manifest file:
http://dev.eyebeam.org/projects/add-art/browse/branches/versionsplash/
addart/chrome.manifest

that refers to a .xul file (yeah, I did it)
http://dev.eyebeam.org/projects/add-art/browse/branches/versionsplash/
addart/chrome/content/versionsplash.xul

which calls this javascript file:
http://dev.eyebeam.org/projects/add-art/browse/branches/versionsplash/
addart/chrome/content/versionsplash.js

We also changed build.bat file and compile.sh around so it would work
with the changes. It works on Matt's machine, but not on mine. It
kinda worked on a random mac around eyebeam but threw some errors.
so close!

OTHER STUFF:
- First screencast remix submission: http://vimeo.com/1099656
- Number of active users *just* on addons.mozilla.org = 922 (we
haven't been sending people there yet)
- based on stats I think we have another 5000+ who downloaded the xpi
from our site in the past week.
- blogs! http://blogsearch.google.com/blogsearch?q=link:add-
art.org&ie=UTF-8

Woo,

Steve
